July 21, 2008: Mexican media and –increasingly?Mexican authorities are concerned that the drug lords will exploit the Mexican Army's big weakness: low pay. Though the Calderon administration raised military pay (eg, a 24 percent increase for security agencies in Mexico's fiscal year 2007 budget), the cartelistas can always pay a poor soldier more than the government. This is how the drug lords corrupted many police departments. A cop could make more in one night of illegal activities (or ignoring illegal activities) than he could in an entire year. The Mexican military is playing a central role in Calderon's Cartel War. One reason: the Mexican Army is one of the most respected institutions in Mexico.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) said three suspects who broke into a home and killed the owner weren't active or former members of the Mexican Army.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) said three suspects arrested in a Monday morning Phoenix home invasion and homicide were not members of the Mexican Army.

"We have no indication whatsoever that any of the individuals were involved with formal military in Mexico," said Vincent Picard of ICE. Click Here for more.

The incident at 8329 W. Cypress St. resulted in the death of the homeowner. Between 50 and 100 rounds were fired at the house.

While on the J.D. Hayworth show Tuesday, a top member of a Phoenix police union announced that the suspects were active members of the Mexican Army hired by drug cartels to perform home invasions and murders.

Phoenix Police Enforcement President Mark Spencer said a police officer told him that one of the men captured said they were completely prepared to ambush Phoenix police, but ran out of ammunition. Click Here to listen to the entire interview.

He added that all of them were dressed in military tactical gear and armed with AR-15 assault rifles. Three other men involved in the invasion escaped.

Picard said two of the men spent a "significant amount of time" in the Arizona Department of Corrections, adding that they could have picked up their "tactics from other criminals while incarcerated."

Phoenix police also did not confirm whether the men were from the military despite internal documents showing that they were (see above).

Sgt. Joel Tranter said one suspect revealed that he had "prior military training," but "no credible evidence" that any of them were active in the military.

So the Mexican Army is committing home invasions in Arizona and killing people and both the US government and the Mexican government are saying it's not happening. The guy told Phoenix PD officers that he had military training and was in the Mexican Army. They used military tactics and tried to draw Phoenix PD officers into an ambush farther in the alleyway.

When is our government going to step up to the plate and realize that Mexico is a failed state with much bigger ramifications than a failed state in the Middle East or Africa.

Click on the link and check out the emails between Phoenix PD personnel. It's scary.

And this story is completely being ignored by the msm.... unbelievable. I am shocked beyond words.

We need to pull our troops out of Iraq and Pakistan and Afgahnistan, all that middle east shit where they've been killing each other for millenia, and put them on the border here with mexico, pending invasion.

I would say we send in some Special Forces A-teams into Mexico and let them address the problem directly. I'm sure the people working for the cartels would start to question their career choices when their coworkers suddenly start turning up dead.

Fact of the matter is, we need to do something. Some black ops to loosen 'em up sounds good. Put a little fear in 'em. Get 'em on the run. Make 'em nervous so they have to start looking over their shoulder everywhere they go. Give the people some hope that they can be taken out. SOMETHING! We need to do it and we need to do it now. But we won't. Not with that shit ball bush in office. He has some sort of unholy alliance with Mexico, so he'll keep his hands off and ignore what's going on. That POS can't leave office too soon.

I would love to see the drug cartels start to get opened up like a can of pinto beans at dinner time by some special ops people. It would be an easy way to throw some terror into the hearts of the cartels, since obviously they aren't real afraid of the Mexican government.

Fuck the talking... just start killing 'em. Yeah the gutless would start scurrying away like rats off a sinking ship. Criminals never really do have the resolve of a true, trained, military fighting man.

We COULD do it... I wish we would.
