You have a choice
Obama or McCain? Neither is perfect. Both have major flaws.
My reasoning is this: I don't support the Iraq war. McCain does. I don't support his stance on military spending and cuts in domestic spending. Most of all, I have a lot of trouble supporting a man who betrayed his country in the Viet Nam war. McCain collaborated with his North Vietnamese captors in return for preferential treatment. His fellow POWs have confirmed this.
You wouldn't vote for or support Jane Fonda. Why would you vote for John McCain?

Re: You have a choice
I do not support Obama or McCain
Obama is the worst of the two
Obama will raise taxes on nearly every worker and business. He wants government run healthcare. He is for amnesty. He wants to increase government handouts. He wants liberal judges who make law form the bench. He is for appeasement to terrorist
McCain at leats will cut taxes and maintaine the war on terror
But he wants billions for global warming. He has not sold me is is now against amnesty.

You wouldn't happen to have any proof of that would you? I'd like to see that.
Re: You have a choice
I posted several instances on that other board. I would have to find them again.
Go to the "Veterans against McCain" site. There is a clip of a guy who was a POW with McCain talking about it. There is also proof that McCain consistently voted against POW/MIA issues.

I think she heard Chris Matthews and Keith Overbite saying it - so to her it must be true

Re: You have a choice
I think it is time that we spent more money on this country and less on foreign countries. Our government is run through tax dollars. The last eight years has seen the constant cutting of domestic funding. We need a tax increase just to undo the damage of eight years of Bush. We need more money for education, infrastructure and aid to states.
Bush has appeased terrorism for years with his support of Saudi Arabia, which sponsors more terrorist groups than any country in the world. We need to get out of that region completely. Just because Bush started a war doesn't mean someone else has to continue it.

This is not left-wing blogs or the "liberal media" speaking. These are veterans who served with John McCain.

Gabby the folks paying taxes and being taxed to death. The top 1% of earners pat 40% of the income taxes; and make only 18% of all income
If you cut the pork and handouts there would be more then enough money - in fact enough to cut taxes further
Gabby domestic spending has INCREASED
Companies will pass on any tax increases on to their customers, or lay off workers to offset the increased cost

Ya know... I can go along with much of that. I do NOT like bush, and I think the war in Iraq should never have been started. I do believe bush has spent money like no other President has too. Actually, there is little I can find that I would defend him on... tax cuts is all I can think of off the top of my head. I'll be glad to see him gone.
Hussein surely is NOT the answer to replace him though, and I have serious problems with mcamnesty. This election cycle just sucks.
